About Me
I’m originally from East Texas but moved to Hawaii at age 14. After graduating from high school on Maui, I attended the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, where I majored in philosophy and Russian as a foreign language. Following graduation, I moved to Moscow, Russia, where I taught in public schools for over 11 years and earned an MA in linguistics from Moscow State University. After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, I returned to the United States. While working at a Montessori charter school in Texas, I discovered that my strengths lay in supporting neurodivergent students—an experience that led to the realization, and later confirmation, that I am neurodivergent myself.
That summer, I founded a co-op for neurodivergent students, teaching in public libraries and local parks. I then relocated to Portland, Oregon, where I spent a year teaching at A Renaissance School of Arts and Sciences. During that time, I realized that my true calling is in providing tutoring and coaching services tailored to neurodivergent learners.
As a neurodivergent educator living in Portland, Oregon, I am committed to providing quality tutoring and mentoring services to neurodivergent learners. My long-term goal is to expand into a co-op of neurodivergent educators and specialists serving learners who have been neglected by traditional education.
Services
I am just beginning my journey as an independent educator and will soon be expanding these services. Each tutoring / mentoring program is individually crafted and designed to meet your learning needs.
Consultation
Before committing to tutoring or mentoring let’s get to know each other first. I would love to hear what your individual needs more, as well as share with you my teaching philosophy and strategies. By talking first, we will find out together if are a good match or not.
FREE / 30 minutes
Tutoring
Individualized tutoring sessions in subjects, including English, math, science, social studies and Russian language. I have over 15 years of experience teaching elementary and high school in both Russia and the United States.
$80 / hour
$90 / 1.5 hours
Mentoring
Mentoring is included in tutoring services, but it is also offered as a separate service as well. I have experience motivating learners through a realization that neurodivergence can be celebrated and appreciated as a superpower. As a neurodivergent educator, I am able to relate to issues that neurodivergent learners face.
